Minnell E. Doby-Wilson became a member of the Eastern Shore Chapter of The Links Inc. in 2014. She has over 20 years of professional experience as a devoted educator and college counselor. In addition to servicing her students, she was an integral member of the STEP program, which prepared students in Suffolk County for a career in science and technology. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in English from Benedict College, a Master of Science in Guidance & Counseling from Brooklyn College, and a Professional Diploma in Supervision & Administration from New York University. Although Mrs. Doby-Wilson is enjoying her retirement, she is a very active community member. Her memberships include being a Life Member Bell Pond Baptist Church, Life Member National Council of Negro Women, Suffolk County (Past President), Life Member NAACP, Diamond Life Member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., and a Life Member of Girls Scouts of America, where she served as the second Vice President of the Suffolk County Chapter. Mrs. Doby-Wilson is also an accomplished writer and has authored “Partners In Education, “Transitioning Into High School.” Her devotion and service to her community have garnered several awards, including NAACP Award “Celebrating Our Legacy-A Vision for The 21st. Century, NCNW – New York State Service Award, Town of Islip-Community Service Award, Suffolk County Girls Scouts Leadership Award, Long Island Counselors Association Leadership Award, and NEWSDAY–Long Islander of the Century. Mrs. Doby-Wilson believes that community service is a family affair. Her daughters Theresa, Jacquelyne, and Racquell are also active members of The Links Inc.
