Link Hughette Naomi Clarke, Ed.D. currently serves as chairman of National Trends and Services Facet (NTS). In 2021-2022, NTS worked with Dress for Success to present two virtual workshops on How to Find and Apply for a Job and Keys to a Strong Interview, and conducted a Pocketbook, Shoe, and Clothing Drive (2022) contributing a total of eighty-four units. NTS also provided Christmas gifts, six $100.00 gift cards, to a soldier’s family through the Secret Soldier Santa program at the Northport Veterans Administration (VA) Hospital (2020 and 2021). In line with Health and Human Services Mental Health Umbrella, NTS invited Suffolk County Sheriff Errol Toulon, Ed.D. to speak about the programs he provides to “justice involved persons.” NTS’ presentation to Services to Youth (STY) STEM Emerald Club for Central Islip High School (2021), featured NASA astronaut Melvin Leland from Lynchburg, VA and Dr. Randolph McGee, engineer. The 2022 STY goal was to present NASA astronaut Jessica Watkins, Ph.D., scheduled to be a member of a 4-person crew mission to the International Space Station. NTS will provide $1,000.00 for paper, mouse pads, ink, and other supplies needed for the ESC Computer Lab at the Family Service League Shelter in Brentwood, NY (2022).

Link Hughette N. Clarke has served as Financial Secretary (2006-2010), Treasurer (2010-2014), and Program Coordinator (2014-2016) of the Eastern Shore (NY) Chapter (ESC). Prior to her retirement in 2012, she taught full time in elementary and middle school grades in Longwood Central School District for over 30 years, New York City Board of Education, and Wyandanch Union Free School District as well as a substitute teacher in school districts in Suffolk County. Dr. Clarke served as Math Curriculum Teacher at Longwood Middle School (1990-2011).

As a 50-year member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated (AKA), she served in leadership roles as chair of committees, as vice president, and president of Sigma Psi Omega Chapter (SPO); as well as chairperson and Vice President in Theta Iota Omega Chapter (TIO).

Link Hughette represents AKA Sigma Psi Omega Chapter with the Women’s Diversity Network (WDN) working on maternal mortality and morbidity through the Health Equity Task Force where she co-chaired the Advocacy/Action Workgroup (2021). She testified virtually before the Suffolk County Legislature with others which helped to establish the Suffolk County Maternal Mortality Task Force (2021). The Advocacy Workgroup produced a Transportation Survey to determine if transportation is a factor for pregnant person’s health care visits. She served as a scribe during maternal mortality virtual listening sessions held for both counties in 2021. She was also a co-chair for a virtual Critical Race Theory Discussion (2022) and helped provide an AKA SPO workshop on estate planning for the upcoming annual WDN 2022 virtual Summit.

Dr. Clarke attends Saint Mary’s Episcopal Church in Amityville, NY where she teaches Sunday School, serves as Secretary of the Women’s Guild, and serves as a member of the Vestry (Church Board).
In her free time, she enjoys movies, walking, reading, sewing, playing video games, and exercising.
